CREATING A HOLISTIC PICTURE

Purpose of medico-legal report writing.

The purpose of a medico-legal report is to create a holistic picture of the claimant’s earning capacity and employability before and after a reported incident, in the event of a personal loss of earnings claim, or to create a holistic picture of the claimant’s loss of financial support due to the passing of a main financial contributor. In the event of a loss of support claim, the earning capacity and employability of the claimant or deceased are compared before and after the injury or death in order to indicate whether the claimant was negatively affected by the event. This report is used to quantify financial loss in legal claims and can be used on a court of law.
